The story about Ultimate Ice, Ice Bone Marrow is cool, but it completely ignores the real physics of what “cold” is and how it works.
Cold is the ABSENCE of HEAT. So you cannot “gather” cold — you can only pump OUT heat. For a cold cave, it means no heat reaches in but constantly escapes/gets-pumped-out, instead of “cold building up” unable to escape.
There’s videos asking how does Marvel’s IceMan even exist because he has to absorb a LOT of HEAT to do what he does — especially water naturally holds a lot of heat. Then, where does the heat go? He should be HOTTER than the Sun for absorbing that much heat.
In this universe a dead animal produces a floating glowing ring. What’s your point? Internally, the universe mechanics remain pretty consistent.
In real life energy can be converted. You can convert heat into mechanical energy (e.g. steam engine), consumed in chemical reaction, and even converted directly into matter (nuclear fusion).
There’s a reason why it’s a Fantasy series.
