Does anyone else find the inconsistencies annoying? The power levels are all over the place, the world history just bends when necessary for a little power fantasy payoff and the world resets and everything changes.
E.g in one of the first episodes grandma Si is fighting 5 swordmen who ventured into Daxu and gets pinned down, but a few episodes later she just paints the sky red with the blood of the strongest experts.
The shadow master kills newborns, wants to kill granny Si, The Holy sect wants to take her away, but an episode later they were the good guys all along.
The state teacher chops off the thief grandpa’s leg, poisons emperor’s mother, invades Daxu, but he’s a good guy now, so poor he has to borrow money from a kid. At one point he’s an all-powerful genius, but then he can t even deal with small sects and competing government officials.
Butcher grandpa was so powerful he went against the gods and his body was chopped in half, but later it turns out it was just a shaman barbarian cult. And it took only his student and 2 kids to wipe the floor with them.

Not sure i understand your second sentence, but the MC makes comments how the state teacher is the strongest and ambitious visionary, MC’s girl worships the state teacher, the Holy Sect’s patriarch is his friend and “mentor”.
Just indicating a pattern where something or someone is played up as a big threat but then it amounts to nothing if not the opposite a few episodes later
