its obvious that the “demons threatening the human race” is a surface level cover up. do these families look threatened? in the world of cultivation, demons are a non issue. also, what good is a genius that cries when they see a demon? they will literally never make it to godfiend/saint. cultivation in this world is purely state of mind. thats why that cowardly body refiner took 20 years and MC took months. even the secret technique is purely state of mind. this entire test is cultivating mind.
