I ruined this show for me for like for 2 years. I was so impatient to see nascent soul that I read the novel from 610-800. I can say this show follows the novel with like 98-99% accuracy. There still like 5 episodes till he goes nascent soul. Slow as hell but so damn good!
This week’s Episode is my 6th time I stopped watching bcs pacing is slow and Im waiting to see Nascent HanLi..
If your estimated EP before Nascent HanLi serves it right, I have to wait for another 5 EP’s mhmmh srsly that was too slow lmao
Beggars can’t be choosers, and frankly this story is being told quite accurately to the source content, so we’re lucky to experience it as it is.
Let eps build up and marathon them at a later time if it’s too slow for you. Go outside, or find a way to kill some time for a while.
What I really love about this donghua is that you can watch it again and again — every time, it’s just a pleasure. You don’t get that rushed feeling like with other shows .
But if you try watching the entire series again over a weekend, you’ll see that the slower pacing actually makes it more rewatchable. It’s not like Renegade Immortal — I rewatched the whole thing too, and in the end, I actually wished it had been slower, because there were so many skips in the story compared to the novel. That ruined it a bit for me.
But here, we have a show you can watch and rewatch — and it’s amazing. Even if it’s painful to wait 7 days just for 16 minutes, the quality is just perfect. I really hope they keep going like this.
If story almost accurate to story then the pacing being too slow is just stating a fact! Bcause that’s how story works
As if anyone complaining around here just spend each day in a week waiting for episode to come out everyday when an episode is obviously being released every week..
I don’t think so, because the donghua follows the novel pretty closely. So I think it’s more like 15 to 20 episodes before he reaches the Nascent Soul stage. You know, there’s that huge event right before it — I won’t spoil anything, but if you’ve read the novel, you know what I’m talking about.

It is good,but for now its kind of slow paced,with slice of life?I think 2-3 more epizodes will be kind of slow,hopefully the pacing of the story improves a bit after that … Slight change that he participated in some preliminary combat tournament …

by the pace of the show and having read both books… we have at least 6 years to him ascending and about 20 before we watch the whole novel…. maybe more…
If the pacing bothers you so much, maybe find other hobbies, or things to do with your time. That way you’re not on the edge of your seat waiting for every episode, and not as unsatisfied when more things don’t happen.
You could also stop watching for a bit, let eps build up, and watch at a later time. Remember, you’re getting this for free.

I am watching this and also Wang Lin, so to see where Wang Lin is versus where Han Li is… it’s fine, Han Li’s script is so detailed and shows us all his ups and downs in full detail. I wish we can get something inbetween tho, Wang Lin’s story is so fast and in 3-5 episodes we get a big fight scene while for Han Li it’s like once every 20 episodes. I just wish it was somewhere in the middle of those two pacing. Still love Han Li, and I still consider it one of the best donghua to ever come out of China.
Almost like they’re entirely different series in entirely different worlds with entirely different main characters who experience entirely different events.
Pacing can vary when the story is being told differently.
