Seems like the saint levels dont mean much to mc.. he is fighting two levels beyond his current level.. great sun, marquis.. his saint-fiend form is just too op.. the only nerf is the fiend corrupts.. knowing the saints on the mountain were twisted, every saint we seen so far been twisted, marquis saint aint no plot twist.. do we want another monster wave attacking the home town? It’s walking dead level re-used plot devices.. it is interesting why the saint form was chained by the heavens.. perhaps we get insight about the chain in the upcoming fight.. i wonder if there is something similar for demon saints..
No, Even in the novel meng chuan had the ultimate lightning saint form. He had speed based attacks as his primary and major key role with his speed later. He had other techniques like blade mind which could tear space and diving thunder dragon technique. His origin spirit is the main strength he has along with his artistic conception which increased his comprehension. By the time he graduated from archeon mountain and went the battle field he already was on par with level 3 demon kings. This current Donghua meng chuan has increased comprehension and that is why even in just his saint form he can easy fight with great sun phase experts. In his fusion saint and fiend form he can fight with level 4 demon kings who are at the marquis level(ordinary marquis cant fight a level 4 demon kings only genius like meng chuan can). Above that is the King level but still there is lot of time for that, but this version of meng chuan might face those enemies sooner than we think. As for the chains I think he need a stronger sword intent to break them as the original novel speed lightning style sword intent he developed were incredibly OP he needs something similar right now
His grand aunt was one of the coolest characters. She didn’t seem “twisted”. They have her a great send off in S1 and this episode makes it even better!
As for MC challenging strong opponents: great! Power levels of saints are distinguished by tricks they learn to advance, but MCs cultivation is different and uncharted territory so he can and should be punching above his weight.
Compare that to Perfect World. Shi Hao is always portrayed dominating, but he essentially always beating kids. The only time he challenged a strong opponent and died was in a “dream”. And it’s always the same recipe: somehow he was wronged, belittled, or his fat friend provoked somebody.
My only gripe is that MC is id like to do see more demon hunting and more serious demons
