Lui Mei stealing his soul blood makes more sense, if anything, this ‘thing’ is more like a clone of Wang Lin using his DNA. It wouldn’t be wrong for Wang Lin to treat it as his child since it was made using his soul blood. The writers/studio are pretty clever, since they know how much the audience hates Lui Mei.
