Perfect World and Shrouding the Heavens are from the same world, they have their own cultivation levels which are hard to understand for me. I think that’s why I don’t enjoy it as much as I enjoy Renegade Immortal and A Mortal’s Journey to Immortality.
The cultivation systems all come from the same source in taoism.. the story telling is what separates the series. I fukk heavy with mortal’s journey, every thot want to ride han li boat lol, but it dont really hit the same as renegade immortal.. han li breaking through to nascent soul went no where near as hard as wang lin breaking through to ascendent realm.. there is a bit more meaning behind perfect world breakthroughs, every episode there is like a profound proverb being reinforced.. like this episode, all of those impurity cleansing fists from Buddha had some proverb/scripture in the capture, like there are levels.. whereas shrouding the heavens is so shallow in comparison.. same world? Idk about that chief.. shrouding the heavens is on some multi-verse arc rn
Well, you can’t compare a nascent to ascendant realm. That won’t be fair. Both Han Li and Wang Lin stepping into nascent soul was magical, Han Li’s was so pretty with the music and all, while Wang Lin kicked ass and was so powerful when he rescued his wife. But fun fact, Han Li actually achieved nascent soul faster than Wang Lin! I was so shocked when someone told me their ages. Han Li was roughly 200yrs old while Wang Lin was over 300yrs old! When people ask for recommendations on which to watch, I tell them if you want fast paced and almost nonstop fights then watch Renegade Immortal, but if you want detailed plots and character growth then go for A Mortal’s Journey to Immortality.
Perfect World and Shrouding the Heavens is from the same universe, someone said the names of some Emperors and even the main characters overlap in the two stories. I have difficulties following so many names with all that is happening in the story so I haven’t noticed. I really enjoyed the beginning of Perfect World when Shi Hao was aiming to defeat his cousin for what he and his mother did to him. To me, it would have been a perfect donghua had the story ended there. It’s just all over the place now.
Self serving is Shrouding the Heavens equivalent of great saint, quasi emperor is self release, and great emperor is supreme being.
