i have a feeling that the emperor will live at the village after this cause he is kinda disable and he is not dead so he cant just go back to the palace and this will make upcoming arc about crown prince becoming new emperor and aggressively trying to make all the sects his ally by turning everything like it was before and maybe the state preceptor will still stay at the palace too (assuming he is not dead/severely injured fighting that god at earlier episode) to act as a shield for mu er and his friends especially the other childrens of the emperor, the girl with big ass hammer and his brother orrrrrr they just decided to duke it out at the palace later on when the emperor got better like crown prince vs emperor
