i only come to watch this series just bcoz of that fox cutie or else this show is 3/10 only for me compared to other donghuas especially when soo slow pacing and all story is only subpar nthg special as for han li well not gonna comment maybe all girls simp for him will get angwy : (
You’ve been brainwashed by all the donghua slop shows out there that you can’t even appreciate a proper cultivation story. The precise things you dislike (slow pacing, not your harem trope) are what make this donghua top 1 for me. I understand the frustration that sometimes episodes like this one are edging viewers before the big battle climax, but this is simply a natural process for building up the atmosphere and presenting the aspects, demeanor and motivations of each character. This process is often skipped in other donghuas where the emphasis is on either romance or action packed battles.
The pacing of Shrouding The Heavens for example is the polar opposite of RMJI, while I also enjoy Ye Fan’s regular battles, that story feels extremely rushed since the mc just keeps spamming breakthroughs very much like Renegade Immortal’s Wang Lin. Those stories are rushed for the sake of increasing the frequency of battle episodes at the cost of sacrificing world building. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying donghuas with battles every 2-3 episodes are bad, rather that it’s the mainstream donghua recipe which is excessively overused nowadays to the point that some viewers like you find it hard to enjoy something different.
RMJI has its very own recipe focusing on world building, without the constraints that other studios may have when it comes to making their adaptations.

dude well i agree with him smh dont get me wrong i like world building too its just that sometimes it does feel boring and slow paced compared to others.

also if u watched tensura slime yet, u will know whats a real world building, and hate to be the guy who says this but this isnt a real world building imo this is just bad writing, i can argue whole day and it wont like han li cowardly acts and all its not his being decisive wise and all it just shows that he doesnt even take a risk if smth goes wrong. he will be the first one to run away..

Han Li spent most of his life as a rogue cultivator meanwhile Rimuru is the leader of a nation so of course the perspective of their world building is different. You said RMJI stretches short talks for too long when Rimuru had like 6-7 episodes of only meetings and talks about how to run his country, that process was so boring that the anime got roasted and called the season of infinite meetings 💀. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent anime, but it has even slower pacing than RMJI sometimes especially this season. I guess it’s the chill and comic relief vibes you enjoy since RMJI has mostly serious and impending danger vibes.
Remember that Rimuru also escaped that time when Hinata first used the disintegration spell on him, wasn’t he also a coward back then?
A wise fighter knows when to retreat, you can call it a sign of cowardice when you escape from battle, but at least the cautious fighter lives another day and eventually will gather enough strength to seek revenge like Han Li. Courage doesn’t make you survive, wits and strength do.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Han Li runs away after facing that Molan middle stage nascent soul baddie next episode, that’s the most logical outcome. Why would he waste his life for an artificial alliance where you got devil Dao old coots backstabbing their so called allies, when Han Li can do what he’s best at: courting life.
