🔥🔥🔥 Wow! They did not disappoint! All the slow build up finally pays off! The writing is so much better than any other series (in some aspects): the plot twists and turns culminating in an epic boss battle where’s EVERYONE plays a part (except Yan Jin lol) but brute force is not enough. Meng Chuan’s unique ability turns the table and he scores the final kill, but draws the ire of the enemy legions and raising future stakes!
What not to like?!

Man mc fells like a side character
If you judge by Perfect World or Renegade Immortal or BTTH standards, yes. But those are solo adventures centered around MC and “aura farming”. The downside is the plot becomes very predictable and they have to rely on something else to keep the series interesting:
– perfect world – amazing graphics
– Renegade immortal, shrouding heavens – zeny adventures in cool locations
Btth – harem
Demon Hunter has flawed but amazing world building: many cultivation methods, several plot threads, internal friction and conspiracues. Makes the world feel more “alive”, things happennin the background.
Forgot to mention. There’s a bit of a running theme about regular people fighting the fight:
– “Struggling mass of common people” is his sword comprehension (whatever that means)
– Dongning prefecture battle – the old cripple soldier + other 2
– A Yu’s self-sacrifice a few episodes back
– Nangong port defence without a saint a few episodes back

To me thats just adds more depth to the plot and the theme.
